License

Morphkit uses a split licensing model.

Code

The Python source code in morphkit/ is released under the MIT License. This includes the package metadata and source files that make up the software package published through Python packaging workflows.

Non-code materials

Documentation, notebooks, images, and other non-code repository materials are released under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), unless a specific file states otherwise.

Why the split exists

This repository started from a research-oriented packaging model, but software reuse works better with a standard OSI-approved software license. The split therefore keeps the code under MIT while preserving CC BY attribution terms for research documentation and other non-code materials.
