A comparison using the punctuation browser reveals that there are substantial differences for the Gospel of John between the base text of the N1904 edition and Tischendorf’s Editio Octava Critica Maior.
This is easily confirmed by consulting the scanned pages of the printed edition of Tischendorf’s Editio Octava Critica Maior (1877).
For example, in John 1:39 and following, Tischendorf reads:
τί ζηῷ εχ τεῖτε; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ᾽ ῥαββεί, ὃ λέγεται ὁρμηνευύμενον διδάσκαλξ, etc.
This diverges significantly from the N1904 reading, both in vocabulary and phrasing.
A similarly difference appears in John 5:4–46, where the text and structure diverge significantly.
